The course comprises of FIVE units, 4 core and 1 elective totalling 30 credits.
Compulsory Units
This unit is worth 6 credits
Upon completion of this unit you will;

Upon completion of this unit you will;
- Know techniques that can achieve added value and its contribution to organisational success
- Know tasks associated with each stage of the sourcing process
- Understand the significance of ethics for procurement and supply
- Understand how operational performance of the procurement and supply function can be measured and improved
This unit is worth 6 credits
Upon completion of this unit you will;
- Know the administrative content and key tasks associated with commercial contracts
- Understand how to achieve competitive pricing and the role of negotiation in procurement and supply
- Know how effective tendering is achieved
- Understand how to measure contract performance
This unit is worth 6 credits
Upon completion of this unit you will;
- Know how the individual can support overall organisational success in procurement and supply
- Understand team dynamics and their influence on procurement and supply
- Understand the challenges associated with, and methods to achieve organisational change

- Understand the environmental impact of procurement and supply
- Know the implications of CSR for the procurement and supply function

- Understand methods for the storage and movement of inventory
- Understand the environmental impact of warehousing and distribution
Your CIPS Exams
Each Level 3 unit is assessed via computer-based questions, which allow you to select a response from a list of possible answers (multiple choice, drag and drop, true/false questions).
You can choose whether to sit your exams online using CIPS remote invigilation, or in person at a CIPS examination centre. We can support you in deciding which option is best for you, and you’ll pay CIPS a fee for each exam.
There are 4 examination sessions each year*;
March, May, July, November
*You can sit multiple exams in one session, providing the scheduled time of these exams do not overlap
You will have the opportunity to speak with your study support advisor about your planned examination dates to ensure we can provide you with the right support you require in the timescale you need it.
